In partnership with John Garland and JRS Realty Partners, Cherney Development is currently developing four unique properties in Henry County and Martinsville, Virginia, dubbed the “Martinsville-Henry Historic Collective.” When completed, there will be total of 155 new apartment homes and 25,587 square feet of commercial retail space.
Cherney Development partnered with Samet Construction to build for lease a 60,000-square-foot distribution facility for Lowe’s home improvement company. Located within an industrial park in Salem, VA, the Lowes Distribution Warehouse is located just off West Main Street, adjacent to Interstate-81. Other companies occupying the industrial park include Mack Trucks, Industrial Battery & Charger Inc., Synchrony Magnetic Bearings, and others.
Once an iconic mainstay, Happy’s Flea Market had become an eyesore after being condemned and falling into disrepair. Breathing new life into the area, the Williamson Road area property was transformed into Fort Knox Drive-Thru Self Storage, a new state-of-the-art “drive-through” self-storage facility, and 11 Fort Knox Business Suites serving the local small business community.
The former 1920s Roanoke printery in Downtown Roanoke was transformed into an 18,000 sq. foot mixed-use space anchored by the gastropub Sidecar, the expansion of Martin’s Downtown restaurant next door, and 18 modern apartments that are helping revitalize 1st Street.
The renovation of historic 19 Franklin Road in the heart of Downtown Roanoke raised the bar on what it means to live and work downtown. This completely updated 8,500 sq. foot historic building is now home to seven urban-designed apartments.
The Fountain Square office building was renovated and modernized to create an updated commercial business hub that attracts new businesses and adds jobs and value to Roanoke's Old Southwest neighborhood.
